When novice knitters and crocheters began asking us to provide patterns that had been tried and tested with yarn that would meet pattern specifications exactly, we looked to DROPS, a Norwegian brand. Their website DROPS Design provides a wide variety of patterns designed especially for their yarns. At a lower price point than our homegrown yarns, DROPS provides a great opportunity to produce beautiful alpaca creations even if you're a brand-new maker.
DROPS Andes is spun from 2 strands in the traditional combination of 65% wool and 35% superfine alpaca, giving this super-bulky yarn a silky surface (from the alpaca fibers) and good shape stability (from the wool). Its natural fibers are untreated, which means that they are only washed and not exposed to any chemical treatment.Very easy to work with thick needles and hooks and ideal for felting, DROPS Andes is perfect for winter garments, accessories, and interior patterns.

Fair Trade Import
Do not put alpaca in hot water, agitate it, or dry in a dryer or on a heat source.
Soak in room temperature water with gentle detergent or shampoo for 30 minutes, rinse, gently squeeze away excess water, and lay flat to dry.
Wipe soiled area with a damp cloth free from soap, and allow it to air dry. Gently brush fur when dry and shake to fluff.
