When novice knitters and crocheters began asking us to provide patterns that had been tried and tested with yarn that would meet pattern specifications exactly, we looked to DROPS. Their website DROPS Design provides a wide variety of patterns designed especially for their yarns. At a lower price point than our homegrown yarns, DROPS provides a great opportunity to produce beautiful alpaca creations even if you're a brand-new maker.
DROPS Puna is a soft, light, and beautifully warm DK yarn made from 100% superfine alpaca that’s perfect for almost any kind of garment and feels wonderful on the skin. Made from 4 threads of superfine alpaca, its fibers are untreated, which means they are only washed and not exposed to any chemical treatment. This highlights the fiber’s natural properties, while it also provides a better shape and texture quality.

Do not put alpaca in hot water, agitate it, or dry in a dryer or on a heat source.
Soak in room temperature water with gentle detergent or shampoo for 30 minutes, rinse, gently squeeze away excess water, and lay flat to dry.
Wipe soiled area with a damp cloth free from soap, and allow it to air dry. Gently brush fur when dry and shake to fluff.
