When novice knitters and crocheters began asking us to provide patterns that had been tried and tested with yarn that would meet pattern specifications exactly, we looked to DROPS, a Norwegian brand. Their website DROPS Design provides a wide variety of patterns designed especially for their yarns. At a lower price point than our homegrown yarns, DROPS provides a great opportunity to produce beautiful alpaca creations even if you're a brand-new maker.
An exciting "blow yarn" made from soft baby alpaca and cozy merino wool - this quality yarn has a unique construction where instead of spinning, the fibers of baby alpaca and merino wool are blown into a tube together. Garments made in this yarn are about 30-35% lighter than those made with conventional spun yarns of the same thickness.
DROPS Air is a light, airy aran/worsted yarn that feels beautiful against the skin, which makes it perfect for sweaters, jackets, and accessories, with both texture and cable patterns.

Do not put alpaca in hot water, agitate it, or dry in a dryer or on a heat source.
Soak in room temperature water with gentle detergent or shampoo for 30 minutes, rinse, gently squeeze away excess water, and lay flat to dry.
Wipe soiled area with a damp cloth free from soap, and allow it to air dry. Gently brush fur when dry and shake to fluff.
